About Me

Hi, my name is Carrie Gauthier. If you have gotten this far, you might be thinking about becoming a partner and member of my team. There are different theories about how much we should write on websites about ourselves. Some believe that short and sweet is best. Others feel that sharing more provides potential team members with a chance to decide for themselves if they want to get to know or work with the person.

I feel that it’s important that you have an opportunity to get to know me and my values and goals. So I’d like for you to take a few moments to grab yourself a coffee or a cup of tea, pull up a comfy chair and read about my journey to finding a home business that I am proud of.

I’m actively involved with our local dog club, participate in dog sports, and work with various organizations to ensure that animals are not abused or mistreated. I am passionate about three things: my family & friends, my business and animal welfare. I also have been doing craft & trades shows for many years and thoroughly enjoy the creativity and interaction I find in these venues.

My father is an entrepreneur and growing up I worked in many of his businesses. He is an advertising salesperson who took that skill and developed his own business and has been highly successful. He has owned a myriad of other small businesses. Life was never boring. His creativity and independent nature was passed on to his children.

Eventually, I struck out on my own. I completed an Electronic Data Processing Diploma at a community college but found there wasn’t a lot of human contact in that field. I have worked as a waitress, dishwasher at a resort and even worked as a laborer in a steel plant. Each job has taught me an awful lot and I carry those lessons with me.

I returned to school, graduated from university and found work as a vocational rehabilitation counselor assisting individuals with physical limitations find suitable employment or financial self-sufficiency. I took a job as an employment counselor/facilitator and that soon led to a program coordinator position.

I began working with groups of individuals who were trying to decide on a career or who needed assistance with their job search or finding employment. Many of our students had not worked in years and I found it challenging but extremely rewarding. Our groups consisted of all ages from youths to 55+, from single moms & dads to individuals who had fallen on hard times.

Our programs consisted of self-assessments to determine which direction a person should go in terms of a career as well as the standard job finding workshops. The ones I found most rewarding were the personal improvement workshops such as communication, stress & time management, self-esteem, positive thinking, fear & risk taking, self-employment, team building, etc.

I’m often asked what I liked most about my job. While I did enjoy seeing people find work or decide to pursue their own businesses, or return to school, that isn’t why I loved my job. It was when someone in class suddenly realized that they were capable of so much more, or when the light bulb went off in someone’s head and they finally understood what it was that they really wanted to do for the rest of their lives. It was that one person who had no self –esteem and no hope when they started the program, who left the final day of class with a huge smile on their face, and the confidence to follow through on their goals and dreams. It was the individuals who walked with their eyes forward rather than down, the ones who finally understood that the had the power within themselves to take on the world, that made my job so specialJ

I wasn’t responsible for their new outlook on life. I didn’t tell them what was best for them. I just gave them information and they did the work that was needed to make good decisions for themselves. Having a small part in helping people become the best they can be is more rewarding than anything else I’ve ever done. I believe that all of us have the answers within ourselves but sometimes we just need a little help figuring it out.

Unfortunately, these programs are government sponsored, so when the money ran out I would find myself without a job. I decided that I needed to take my own advice. I had been telling students for years that the world of work was changing. No longer can we expect to stay employed with one employer for our work lifetime, as our parents did. The trend is for more people to become contractors or become self-employed. 96% of people surveyed indicated that they want to be self-employed and working from home seems to be a growing trend.

I didn’t want to find myself without a job and not have something else to count on, so I began looking for alternative incomes. I can’t remember a time where I hadn’t always secretly dreamed of owning my own business. And to be perfectly honest I wanted to put the profits into my pocket rather than someone else’s. It was time for me to invest in myself.

I wanted to stay home with my family and continue to volunteer my time helping animals. I wanted to spend quality time with those I care about. I knew I couldn’t do that and work 40+ hours a week and continue the volunteer work that I wanted to do. I had some business ideas but I found out very quickly that you need quite a bit of money to open your own service or retail business. We just didn’t have it. I was determined not to give up on my dream of being self-employed, so began the searching for alternatives. I spent many hours looking into home businesses but nothing caught my eye. I knew that the business had to have the following criteria if I was to succeed:

  • I had to work from home
  • I had to know that if I worked hard I would eventually have time to do the things I wanted to do
  • I needed financial security
  • I needed something that allowed me to continue to be creative
  • I had to have a product that fit certain criteria
  • It had to be something that people wanted and would buy again and again
  • It had to be reasonably priced and one that wasn’t going to require me to hard sell
  • It had to be something that was fun to sell and it needed to motivate me to really want to share the products with everyone I met
  • I needed to be involved in a business where I not competing for business with 30+ distributors in my area~the business had to be stable and growing quickly
  • It needed to use my transferable skills and share those skills and experiences with others
  • I needed to develop and work with a team but I also wanted to be sure that my team could be successful….so I could watch the smiles on their faces when they succeeded
  • The company had to have family oriented values
  • It had to be affordable and within my budget
  • The company had to provide an excellent training and support program

Yes, I was expecting a lot! But I figured if I aimed for the sky then I would only find the best opportunities. I had dared to ask for it all because I believed I was worth it and then one day I found myself reading about Scent-Sations and Mia Bella Gourmet Candles. I started asking questions and I soon found out that this company had all of the things I was looking for and moreJ

  • I discovered that candles are a multi-million dollar induxtry and that is not expected to change in the future and the trend in the candle industry is moving from petroleum to agricultural resource consumption
  • Our company offers several ways to earn: Fundraising, retail or residual income. The company gives us the freedom to run our businesses in the manner that suits each individual distributor. You can decide what best fits you.
  • I can earn more than I thought was possible through our excellent residual program. I continue to earn over and over for work that I completed once.
  • The profits from retail sales and fundraisers are excellent.
  • I could use the internet to increase my income in ways that I hadn’t known were possible
  • There are no company mandates, minimums or quotas
  • A program that is easy to teach others using a few simple steps and one where they can start earning immediately
  • No waiting for a company check…..you pocket the profits after each sale
  • The "Smell and Sell" strategy really works!

Once I saw all that the company had to offer I joined the company right away. I have not looked back. The products are amazing, the company is supportive and I have customers calling me! I have fabulous partners who share ideas and want to be successful. I’ve met other distributors and made great friendships.

I have a growing business that I love and one that allows me to set my own pace. I decide when I work, play or just relax. I decided to go after my dreams and now they are becoming a reality and I know that if I can do it, so can you.

This is not a "get rich quick" scheme. I am not offering a program that guarantees you anything. If I were, I would be the first one to say that you need to walk away. You can earn a lot of money but it takes hard work, a positive attitude, a willingness to continually learn and a belief in yourself. With those attributes you will maintain and develop a profitable home based business with the potential to provide you with more money than you have dreamed of.

My business gives me the chance to help others work to their potential and get what they want/need by establishing their own business. I am doing what I’ve always loved…helping people by sharing information and supporting them until they reach their goals.

I am not here to recruit you. If you feel pressured into joining any business opportunity, then you will not succeed. Trust your mind and your gut instincts. If you are committed to becoming the success that you know you can be, then I’d love to become your partner and work with you to create a business that suits you!

Are you ready to start building your future? I’m ready to get started if you are!
